I love Kuya Bear food! The Crab Rangoon are so delicious but they sell out fast so get there early. The truck visits a wide variety of venues and events. The schedule is available on social media. The service is excellent and eager to please. Atmosphere is all according the the venue in which the truck is parked. The people working all had on hair nets and gloves the times we have eaten there.

My honest review. I was excited to try the food. The lumpia was very small and thin. The soy sauce in it was a bit overwhelming but paired well with the sweet spicy sauce. By the time I got home with the steak bowl I purchased I was excited to try it but realized there were a few hairs in it. I contacted the food owner and they were super apologetic and very willing to refund me my money. I was completely turned off so I didn't finish the rest of the food. Service good but I don't plan to return. Would advise them to start wearing hair nets

Kuya Bear is one of those food trucks you pull up to once and then start looking for again. The food isn’t toned down or trying to be trendy, it tastes like it’s supposed to. The adobo has that deep, savory kick with just the right tang. The lumpia is actually crispy, not greasy, and gone quick. Even the sides are done right. What stands out is that nothing feels rushed or half assed. You can tell there’s experience behind it. The flavors hit, the portions make sense, and it feels like someone’s cooking food they actually care about, not just pushing plates.

Kuya Bear was out at The Beer Temple in Matthews and we had the pleasure of trying a bit of everything. First, there was one guy manning the truck and, despite the orders and the rush delay, man had hustle! And every bit of waiting was filled with anticipation, even in the cold, as you smelled what was working on the flat top. When I tell you that this is elevated comfort food in a street style... I simply cannot emphasize comfort enough. The Lumpia, perfectly seasoned perfect bites. The bowls, impeccable combination of sweet, spice, and umami. And the Rangoon... The green onion is the best ratio to give a bit of zest to the otherwise soft flavors. I simply cannot do justice to the absolute balance of flavors that create the perfect bites. Thank you for a satisfying, warm, comforting, and delicious dinner!

Joe does amazing Filipino food. He takes the traditional old world dishes and can keep it classic or put a modern twist on it.
